Two Ways We Help

Insurance Track or Cash Track.
Both Done with Integrity.

Most roofing companies treat insurance as the only path. We built an honest alternative for every homeowner — not just the ones with a good hail date.

Insurance Track

We've been that adjuster.
Now we show up for you.

When hail hits your neighborhood, the claims process moves quickly. Having someone who understands documentation standards, policy language, and scope requirements means your claim is submitted completely — and your coverage works the way it's meant to.

Colorado homeowners typically have a limited window to file after a weather event. An inspection now protects your options.

Real Claim Scenario — Front Range Hail Event
Carrier's first offer $8,200
After our supplement $21,400
Recovered for homeowner +$13,200
  • Adjuster-to-adjuster documentation — we measure and photograph exactly what the carrier will scrutinize
  • We attend the insurance inspection on-site to ensure the full scope of damage is documented
  • Xactimate scope review — we find the line items carriers routinely omit or underprice
  • Supplement claims filed as standard, not as an afterthought
  • Recoverable depreciation tracked and collected through project close
  • Full installation with workmanship warranty — same crew, every job

Cash Track

Quality roofing.
Priced for what it is.

Not every roof situation involves an insurance claim — and that's completely fine. Whether your roof is aging, you're prepping for a sale, or you simply want a fresh start, we give you a clear, itemized price for quality work with no guesswork.

Most Front Range residential replacements run $14,000–$28,000 depending on size, pitch, and material. We'll give you a real number, in writing, after one visit.

Why homeowners choose the Cash Track

"Some roofs don't need a claim — they need a straight answer and a fair price. We give you a written, itemized quote so you know exactly what you're getting, who's doing it, and what it costs. Same quality either way."

  • Transparent itemized quote — every material, labor line, and disposal cost in writing
  • Same quality materials and installation crews as our insurance jobs
  • Ideal for older roofs, pre-sale replacements, under-insured, or no-claim situations
  • Clear timeline and scope — you know what to expect before work begins
  • Financing available for qualifying projects
  • Written workmanship warranty — documented before we leave your driveway

The Process

How It Works

Clear, predictable, and built so you always know what happens next — not after you sign.

01

Roof IQ Assessment

We inspect your roof exactly as an insurance adjuster would — measuring hail impact density, checking decking, gutters, flashing, and ridge. Every finding is photographed and documented to adjuster standards.

No cost. No obligation.
02

We File and Advocate

We attend the carrier's adjuster meeting on-site. We review their Xactimate scope, identify missing or underpriced items, and submit supplements when — not if — the initial estimate falls short.

Know the claim. Know the craft.
03

Installation and Close

Permits pulled, installation complete, final inspection passed. We coordinate the release of any withheld depreciation and walk you through every document before we consider the job finished.

Warranty in writing before we leave.
01

Free On-Site Assessment

We measure your roof, assess material needs and condition, and talk through your priorities — budget, longevity, aesthetics, HOA requirements. No sales pressure, no artificial urgency.

You drive the conversation.
02

Transparent Itemized Quote

You receive a written quote showing every line item — materials, labor, disposal, and any code-required upgrades. We walk through it with you. If you can get a better price for the same scope elsewhere, take it.

We'd rather earn the job than pressure it.
03

Installation and Walkthrough

Permits pulled, installation completed to manufacturer spec, jobsite cleaned, and a thorough walkthrough with you before the final invoice. Your workmanship warranty is documented and signed.

Done right or we come back.
The Roof IQ Difference

What Sets Us Apart Isn't a Tagline.

It's a background that no other roofing company on the Front Range can honestly claim.

We've Sat at Both Tables

Jake, our lead adjuster, has managed over 3,000 catastrophe claims — evaluating damage, writing Xactimate scopes, and negotiating settlements across the Front Range and beyond. That's not a learning curve. That's a reference library. Every scope we submit, every supplement we file, draws on a depth of claims experience no competitor can replicate with a certification course.

Adjuster Background

Built From the Trades Up

Ivan has spent over 20 years founding and operating trade businesses in Colorado — including Ayala's Painting, one of the region's established painting contractors. That kind of multi-trade operational depth is rare in roofing. It means the standards we install to aren't aspirational — they're the same standards a 20-year trades operator applies to every job they put their name on.

Cross-Trade Expertise

Two Honest Options, Not One Pitch

Every other roofing company steers every lead toward an insurance claim because that's where the margin is. We built a second lane — a real one — because not every homeowner should be filing a claim, and not every roof qualifies. We'll tell you which one makes sense for your situation, even if that costs us the bigger job.

No Single-Track Pressure

Colorado Through and Through

After every major hail event, out-of-state contractors flood the Front Range with promises and then disappear. We were here before the storm and we'll be here when the warranty question comes up three years from now. Our crews live here. Our families live here. That accountability is not optional.

Our Story

We Started on theOther Side of the Claim.

Colorado Roof IQ was built by three founders whose combined backgrounds cover every dimension of the problem. Jake has handled over 3,000 catastrophe claims and built technology for the adjusting industry. Ivan has founded and scaled trade companies across Colorado for more than 20 years. Jonathan has built companies and technology in both real estate and insurance. That combination doesn't exist anywhere else on the Front Range.

Most roofing companies are either good at the installation side or they learn the insurance side on the fly. We came at it differently — Jake's claims depth means we know exactly how a scope gets written, reviewed, and settled. Ivan's trades background means we know how a roof should actually be built. And Jonathan's real estate and insurance experience means we understand how all of it connects to the homeowner's broader financial picture.

We started Colorado Roof IQ because that combination — real claims expertise, real installation standards, and real business depth — is what homeowners in Colorado's hail corridor have always needed and never quite had. That's what we built.

The People Behind the Expertise.

Three former catastrophe adjusters who spent years on the claims side before building the roofing company they always thought homeowners deserved.

Ivan — Co-Founder, Colorado Roof IQ
Ivan
Co-Founder · Multi-Trade Operator
20+ years founding & scaling trade businesses · Colorado

Ivan has spent two decades building and operating trade companies across Colorado. He founded Ayala's Painting and scaled it into one of the region's recognized painting contractors — a business built entirely on craftsmanship, referral, and repeat work. His multi-trade background means he understands what quality installation actually looks like from the inside, not just on an inspection form. At Colorado Roof IQ, Ivan brings the operational infrastructure and trades expertise that ensures every job is run and built to the standard the claim documents.

Jake
Co-Founder · Claims & Adjuster Tech
3,000+ CAT claims handled · Adjuster business founder · Industry tech builder

Jake is the claims engine behind Colorado Roof IQ. With over 3,000 catastrophe claims under his belt, he has seen nearly every damage scenario, carrier response, and documentation challenge the Front Range can produce. Beyond his field work, Jake founded and scaled an adjusting business and built technology tools used within the adjuster industry itself — meaning he understands the claims process not just as a practitioner, but as someone who has built systems around it. When he reviews a scope, he's not guessing. He's worked the other side of that table thousands of times.

Jonathan — Co-Founder, Colorado Roof IQ
Jonathan
Co-Founder · Real Estate & Insurance Tech
Company builder · Real estate & insurance ecosystem · Colorado

Jonathan brings a rare combination of real estate, insurance, and technology company experience to Colorado Roof IQ. Having built companies and tech platforms in both the real estate and insurance spaces, he understands how roofing intersects with property value, policy structure, and the broader ecosystem homeowners navigate. Jonathan handles the business infrastructure, technology, and strategic relationships that make Colorado Roof IQ operate at a level most roofing companies never reach — turning what could be a trade shop into a scalable, systems-driven business.

After the May hailstorm I called three roofers before Colorado Roof IQ. Every other company just said "we'll file a claim" and handed me a contract before they'd even been on my roof. These guys came out, measured everything, explained my actual policy language, and attended the adjuster meeting with me. My carrier's first check was $8,200. By the time Colorado Roof IQ finished supplementing, we settled at $21,400. I had no idea that gap was even possible — or that I'd been leaving it on the table.

My roof was original from 1998 and my insurance company had already removed hail coverage at renewal. Colorado Roof IQ came out, gave me a written itemized quote and walked me through every line item without me having to ask. The crew was professional, showed up when they said they would, and I passed my HOA inspection on the first visit. Having someone explain the scope clearly made a real difference — I knew exactly what I was getting and why. I'd send anyone I know to them.

My claim had already been denied once before I called them. I assumed it was over. Colorado Roof IQ reviewed the denial letter, identified that the carrier's adjuster had used the wrong inspection criteria for impact-resistant shingles, and requested a re-inspection with documentation that specifically addressed that point. The second adjuster approved the full replacement. From denial to approved took 23 days. I honestly didn't know that was an option — I would have just paid out of pocket and moved on without them.

Straight Answers

Questions No Other Roofer Will Answer This Honestly.

We built our FAQ around what homeowners actually need to know — not what makes filing a claim sound easy.

Insurance carriers use Xactimate to generate their initial scope. That software allows adjusters to select line items and unit prices — and the initial scope almost always omits items that are legitimately required: code-mandated upgrades, overhead and profit for a general contractor, permit fees, certain flashing and decking items, and secondary structure damage. The first check is not final. It is an opening position. Understanding how the process works helps you navigate it confidently. The initial scope is a starting point. Complete documentation of all insurable damage is standard practice — and it's what your coverage is designed to address.
If you have Replacement Cost Value (RCV) coverage, your carrier pays in two stages. The first check is the Actual Cash Value (ACV) — what your roof was worth today given its age, minus depreciation. Once repairs or replacement are complete, you submit proof of completion and request the "recoverable depreciation" — the withheld portion that brings the total to full replacement cost. Homeowners who don't know to request this — or miss the deadline — forfeit that money permanently. We track this and coordinate the release as a standard part of every insurance job. If you have RCV coverage and never requested your recoverable depreciation, there may still be money to recover. Call us.
Xactimate is the industry-standard claims estimating software. Your insurance company's adjuster builds your estimate inside it — selecting line items, quantities, and pricing from a regional database that updates monthly. If your roofer can't read an Xactimate scope, they cannot effectively advocate for you. They're negotiating in a language they don't speak. Our team used Xactimate on the carrier side for years. We can identify when the price list is outdated, when standard line items are missing, when unit quantities are wrong, and when O&H has been excluded. We file supplements in Xactimate format — the same way the carrier's team expects to receive them. Xactimate fluency is the difference between taking the first offer and knowing when it's wrong.
In many cases, yes. Denials based on incorrect inspection methodology, undocumented damage, or misapplication of policy language can often be appealed or re-inspected successfully. Settled claims can sometimes be supplemented if the work performed exceeded the original approved scope and the policy is still open. Colorado's statute of limitations on property claims provides a window — but it is not unlimited. The sooner you act, the more options you have. We review denial letters and settlement documents at no charge to tell you whether an appeal or supplement has merit. A denial is not always final. We've reversed them. Call us before you accept it as the answer.
Actual Cash Value (ACV) pays what your roof is worth today — replacement cost minus depreciation based on its age and condition. A 15-year-old roof might receive 40–50 cents on the dollar. Replacement Cost Value (RCV) pays the full cost to replace it with a comparable new roof, released in two payments. Many homeowners don't know which they have — or that some carriers quietly downgraded their policies to ACV at renewal. Pull your declarations page and look for "roof: ACV" or "roof: RCV" — or call us and we'll help you read it. If your policy was changed to ACV without a clear conversation about what that means, you may be significantly underinsured.
Filing a claim isn't always the right move, and no honest roofing company should push you toward one blindly. Consider cash when: the repair cost is close to or below your deductible; you've filed recently and another claim could affect your renewal; you have ACV coverage on an older roof and the payout won't cover full replacement anyway; or the damage is cosmetic rather than functional. We will tell you when the math doesn't favor filing — because our business depends on long-term trust with homeowners, not on commission from claims we pushed unnecessarily. We'll tell you when insurance makes sense and when it doesn't. That's a conversation most roofers avoid.
